Fallout 4's Todd Howard confirms mod support coming in April 2016

That's for both PC and consoles!

While the modding community has been doing a stellar job of modding the PC version of Fallout 4 since its release, but the game will change in more ways than one when Bethesda launches its official Creation Kit. While Bethesda has yet to officially reveal when its modkit will be available, Bethesda Game Studios’ director and executive producer Todd Howard has confirmed it’ll release in April 2016.

During an interview with Game Informer, Howard was asked when Fallout 4 fans could expect to see mods on both PC and consoles. “Our goal is between the first two DLCs. It’ll go up at that time on PC. In April,” he says. “All of that stuff will go up on PC. People are beta testing it. There’ll be a lag on consoles. We want to get it up on PC and have it work. It’ll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4.”

We’ve seen some really impressive mods so far, but we can’t imagine what the modding community cooks up when the official Creation Kit is released.

I don't believe a date was ever offered. I'm pretty sure it was always either early 2016, or spring 2016.

People speculated February based on the release time when Skyrim got official mod support.

It's the tool they use to make the game, this delay really makes no sense.

People are making thousands mods without a tool, just hacks. They don't need a lot of documentation or polish.

Yeah that'll be amazing. I'm gonna wait for a lot of mods and all the DLC to hit but then I'm gonna rock a second "evil" or as evil as you can be, playthrough.

I can't quit hoarding in this game, I pick up every fucking tin can I see. You need shit tons of raw materials to do the good crafting and settlement stuff.

I had the same problem, but I was a melee character so I really didn’t even need any of it outside of settlement stuff.

it also plays a small role in the end game. You have to build some stuff at the end for the BoS and just for any faction at one point in the game.

They should sell the mod tools as an expansion, and then charge users to use them.

So does this mean we finally get ui mods for Fallout4 or have those came out yet?

Hope we get a mod that strips the main story out and we can just roam the wastes and take on side quests.
