Descent spiritual successor Overload getting multiplayer mode if Kickstarter succeeds
Those who back the project within a certain amount will receive the multiplayer expansion for free.
Revival Productions revealed Descent’s spiritual successor, Overload, last week. At the time, the company only mentioned the game would have a single-player component, but today, we’re learning the title will multiplayer expansion shortly after its initial release.
Revival Productions will commit to a multiplayer expansion, but only if Overload is successfully funded on Kickstarter. The company expects to launch the single-player portion of Overload in March 2017, then its multiplayer portion 6 to 8 months later, which lands in Fall 2017.
While no information regarding Overload’s multiplayer expansion’s pricing, Revival says those who fund its Kickstarter at the $25 and higher level will receive the expansion for free. As far as game modes, the company is unsure of its scope, although it will include competitive modes and a number of key features similar to Descent’s.
Overload’s Kickstarter campaign will end on March 11 and will be considered successful if it raises $300,000.
