Xaviant has announced a free Closed Alpha for The Culling will be taking place later this month.

The Closed Alpha test is being launched to allow the gaming community the opportunity to help shape The Culling through its development. “The feedback gathered from the test will ensure that we are able to deliver the reliable and balanced experienced our players deserve,” Xaviant CEO and founder Michael McMain shared in a statement submitted to Shacknews.

We reported on The Culling just last week as it’s a unique take on the survival games that have been gaining in popularity, such as DayZ, H1Z1, and Ark: Survival Evolved. Instead of focusing squarely on the survival aspect, The Culling allows its players to participate in a battle royale game mode, which means you should no longer feel guilty for killing your fellow man for resources. Players should expect to plan, craft, and kill their way to the top of the leaderboards.

The Culling will be available for $14.99 on Steam Early Access with a 10% discount being offered to players who purchase the game between March 8 and March 14.
