Harmonix is getting into some classic grunge for next week's Rock Band 4 DLC, while also offering a sneak peek at one of the free offerings coming with the upcoming January update.

This may seem like a little early for this, but it looks like Harmonix is taking Martin Luther King Day off, so next week's Rock Band 4 DLC is being unveiled a little bit early. For the latest batch of DLC, Harmonix is heading back to the 90s for some classic grunge. That means Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Stone Temple Pilots, led by the late Scott Weiland.

The following tracks will be sold individually for $1.99:

  • Soundgarden – My Wave
  • Stone Temple Pilots – Wicked Garden
  • Temple of the Dog – Hunger Strike

These tracks will be available on Tuesday, January 19. To get a quick listen, check out the video below.

Meanwhile, still no word on tracks from the original Rock Band coming to the Xbox One version of Rock Band 4, but that drop is expected soon. In the meantime, Harmonix has offered up one small detail about this month's January date.

Yes, Rock Band 4 also has Psychonauts fever and the only prescription is a new hat.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

      I don't give a shit.

They still have problems releasing in Poland, all the shops took down their release dates for it (I had one on order, it's now months later and no news)

I used to love Rock Band so much, but the hoops they are making me jump through just to acquire a version of the game I can play - screw them, I'll play something else.

However I will be picking up Amplitude tonight and playing the shit out of that instead. I hate you Harmonix. But I love your music games, I'm so confused :(
