Nintendo celebrates Pokémon's 20th anniversary with New 3DS bundle
The New 3DS bundle will launch on February 27th and will come with some bundled games, cover plates, and more.
The Pokemon Company has announced Nintendo plans to release a Pokémon-themed New 3DS bundle on February 27 to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary.
The New Nintendo 3DS bundle will include both Pokémon Red and Blue pre-installed, two cover plates, and a download code for a new Pokémon home menu theme. Fans in Japan will be given the option of four Pokémon-themed 2DS bundles the will match the Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green editions.
To further celebrate the Pokémon series’ 20th anniversary, fans with copies of Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, or Y will be able to pick up Mew, Darkrai, Arceus, and Genesect during a number of GameStop events throughout the year. Nintendo will also make a number of its best-selling Pokémon amiibo available at select retailers. Last, but not least, a new ad will air during Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, February 7.
