Sony has revealed new details regarding its New Hot Shots Golf coming to the PlayStation 4.

New Hot Shots Golf will include a number of new features, including the ability to mix character creation and customization, a robust online experience, and free roaming golf courses including the ability to drive golf carts anywhere you want.

Players will start Hot Shots Golf by creating and dressing their own golfer, which is a departure from previous iterations that would unlock new golfer characters and building on their various strengths and weaknesses. In order to improve their custom golfer, players will need to complete specific tasks which can help build strength for long drives, precise control for putting on the green, and more.

Character development isn’t the only way players can explore New Hot Shots Golf as there will be a variety of golf courses available to play in a variety of environments. Players can explore all of the golf courses if they’d like to take a break from playing golf to catch fish, explore their surroundings, and more. Players will also be able to see other online players wandering around the various golf courses.

Speaking of online play, the game will offer a variety of connected online gameplay modes. Players can unlock rewards by completing missions, compete in matches and tournaments, or play co-op with other golfers.

Sony has yet to reveal when New Hot Shots Golf will be released, but in the meantime, here’s its first English trailer.
