Rocket League goes beyond with 'Chaos Run' in December

Rocket League is about to hit the post-apocalypse with December's Chaos Run update, which adds some new vehicles and decals, along with a free off-road arena.

Not every bout of Rocket League is going to be decided in lavish stadiums and polished arenas. This kind of game is made for a 'Mad Max' kind of atmosphere, where two vehicles enter and only one leaves. That'll certainly be the theme of the game's December DLC, Chaos Run, which takes Rocket League into the post-apocalypse.

Chaos Run is introducing off-road stadiums to Rocket League for the first time. A new pair of Battle-Cars (Ripper and Grog) will also wheel into the arena, along with six decals for each of them. Players can also find new customizable accessories to deck out their vehicles with.

While Chaos Run will go for $3.99 on both PlayStation Network and Steam, there's some free content coming next month, too. The 'Wasteland' arena will make its debut, based loosely off the old map from Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. This will be the first arena in the game to feature sloped perimeters, different boost placements, and a wider pitch.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
