Microsoft and 343 Industries promised substantial free DLC for Halo 5: Guardians post-launch. The newest content to hit the game will be the Battle of Shadow and Light update, which adds some new multiplayer items. More than that, it also adds Big Team Battle to Halo 5's multiplayer.

Big Team Battle will expand Halo 5: Guardians' Arena mode from 4v4 to 8v8. On top of changing up some of the team strategy battles, the update will also include some new maps that take advantage of the increased number of players. Deadlock, Basin, Guillotine, and Recurve will utilize new environments, like tundra and woodland. But also, the maps will be large enough to squeeze in Halo's vehicles, so get ready to motor in a Warthog or a Ghost.

The new update will also add 48 new REQ packs that can be unlocked by playing multiplayer. Those new REQs can be found below.

The Battle of Shadow and Light update is set to deploy later this month. For more, be sure to visit Halo Waypoint.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
