Doom Closed Alpha kicks off Oct. 23; new gameplay video highlights tons of mayhem
id software has announced the Doom Closed Alpha will begin in just under 24 hours, and to celebrate, the studio has released a gameplay trailer showing off what participants can expect.
Bethesda Softworks has released a new gameplay video for Doom showing off what we can expect from its upcoming closed alpha.
The closed alpha footage was captured from the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC to show the differences between all platforms Doom will launch on in spring 2016. The gameplay video shows off some classic Doom multiplayer footage, which includes various weapons to eliminate opponents with, equipment to help give players the edge, and even some devastating melee attacks. We also catch a glimpse of what it looks like to turn into a Revenant Demon, as well as battle with one.
The Doom Closed Alpha will kick off on October 23 at 12:01am ET and will run through October 25 at 11:59pm ET.

It's so painful watching this played with a gamepad. Looks fun, but hard to tell like that.
Floating damage numbers and stuff look lame, weird tron effect on teleporter seem un-doom like. After the horrible demon bowels effect from Doom 3, I thought the effect should be more...you know, evil. Super shotty doesn't seem to be 1-hit kill at close range :(
