Mighty No 9 delayed due to going multiplatform; sequel already planned
Keiji Inafune revealed some interesting information regarding Mighty No 9, which includes the reason for its multiple delays as well as plans for a sequel.
Keiji Inafune has revealed a number of interesting details regarding his upcoming Mega Man-esque platformer, Mighty No 9, which includes plans for a sequel if the game is successful.
Inafune-san spoke during a lecture at the Unreal Fest 2015 Yokohama Event where he discussed the rise of indie and mobile gaming. During the talk, he revealed some details regarding Mighty No 9, like the reason for its multiple delays was due to it expanding to multiple platform. Even though the game has been delayed several times, Inafune-san says it “absolutely will not be delayed” again.
Inafune-san also revealed a sequel for Mighty No 9 has already been planned, but the only way it would be considered is if the original game is considered a success. In order for that to happen, he says the game needs to sell a lot of copies, although he doesn’t go into specific numbers.
Mighty No 9 is scheduled to be released on February 9 in North America and February 12 worldwide on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 3,, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U with a Vita and 3DS version also planned.
