Fallout Shelter update adds Survival Mode and iOS-exclusive Piper
Those that have been able to ween themselves away from Fallout Shelter may want to look back, as Bethesda has offered a new update.
The wait for Fallout 4 continues to drive fans insane, but at the very least, they've had Fallout Shelter to keep them occupied over the past couple of months. Now the mobile game from Bethesda is getting a major update, one that brings in a new game mode and offers some new tools to help maintain a pristine Vault.
Fallout Shelter's latest update is adding a Survival Mode, which will challenge players to keep their Vaults in one piece in the wake of new, unspecified dangers. There's also a new mission in the form of a mysterious wanderer near the Wasteland, with players getting a reward for this person's capture. Along the way, players can now loot dead Raiders for new equipment.
Current users will be happy to hear that cloud saving for their Vault is now available, making it easier to keep their Vaults up and running. They can also make their Vault management a little more efficient with the addition of a Vault Dweller's Survival Guide. As for new users, they can now skip the tutorial and jump right into the action.
Finally, there's more of an overt tie into Fallout 4, as the iOS version of this update will add new character Piper and five free lunchboxes.
