PlayStation 4 update 3.0 release date announced; includes YouTube streaming
Sony has announced PlayStation 4 system software 3.0 will be available to download tomorrow and will contain a number of new features, such as YouTube streaming, Communities, and more.
Sony has announced the PlayStation 4 system software 3.0 will be available to download starting tomorrow which will add a number features we previously knew about, including broadcasting on YouTube, sharing clips via Twitter, and more.
System software 3.0 will make it easier to share content to your friends and followers as YouTube broadcasting will now be available in addition to Twitch and Ustream, and you can share up to 10 seconds of footage on Twitter. A new Events hub has also been added to the PS4’s menu that gives users an overview of activities taking place in games you play the most, as well as official broadcasts.
Sony has also made various improvements to how we communicate with others on the PlayStation 4. Groups can now be created to allow quick access to certain users, where you can view their online status, what games they’re playing, and an option to message or chat in the party.
Communities is another way to communicate with others with shared interests. Communities can be based on games, genres, or other categories and can be populated with messages, screenshots, and allows to join parties and games.
Lastly, Sony has added Stickers to the Messaging app. When the 3.0 system software releases, there will be a number of stickers available themed around Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, LittleBigPlanet 3, Knack, and more.
