Amazon Fire TV Gaming Edition announced; Shovel Knight and Disney's Ducktales included
Amazon has announced a new Fire TV that's dedicated for playing games called the Fire TV Gaming Edition. It comes with a controller, a 32GB microSD card and two games for $139.99.
Amazon is taking gaming a bit more serious as it has announced the Fire TV Gaming Edition.
The Fire TV Gaming Edition features the new Amazon Fire TV, which supports 4K Ultra HD and has 75% more processing power than last year’s Fire TV as it comes with a MediaTek 64-bit quad-core processor, a dedicated GPU, and more memory. In addition to the new Fire TV, the Gaming Edition comes with the new Fire TV Game Controller, a 32GB microSD card, and two games: Shovel Knight and Disney’s Ducktales.
The new Fire TV Game Controller has a new ergonomic design, an audio jack to allow for the player to listen to their game without disturbing others, and instant voice search with a built-in microphone. Amazon says the new controller will give players up to 90 hours of battery life on one set of AA batteries without headphone use.
The Amazon Fire TV Gaming Edition is now available for pre-order for $139.99 and will begin shipping on October 5. For those who want to purchase the new controller separately, it’s also available for pre-order for $49.99 and will ship in October.
