The PC version of Need for Speed has been delayed to spring 2016, developer Ghost Games has revealed.

In a message published on the official Need for Speed website, Ghost Games has made the decision to delay the PC version in order to give the team more development time in order to increase the visuals the studio can deliver on this version. One such inclusion it mentions is the ability to unlock the framerate so PC gamers can push their systems to their limits.

While the PC version is being delayed, both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are still scheduled to be released on November 3, 2015. PC owners can expect the same content updates console owners will receive, all of which will be available when it’s released in spring 2016.

In addition to delaying the PC version, Ghost Games is also announcing a closed beta for Need for Speed will be taking place on both the Xbox One and PS4 “in the coming weeks.” The purpose of this closed beta is to help test their server infrastructure in preparation of its launch.
