While Kingdom Hearts fans are looking forward to the release of Kingdom Hearts 3, the LinkedIn profile of a Square Enix game designer has revealed Kingdom Hearts 2.9 is currently in development for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

The LinkedIn profile not only reveals Kingdom Hearts 2.9 is in development, but it has also leaked some new information regarding Kingdom Hearts 3. The profile mentions “multiplayer planning and documentation,” which leads us to believe Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the first game in the series to offer a multiplayer component to it. We also are learning Pixar worlds may finally be included in Kingdom Hearts 3 as the profile makes mention of the company.

Square Enix will have a large presence at the Tokyo Game Show later this month. Kingdom Hearts fans should tune in between September 19 - 20 as that’s when we expect Kingdom Hearts 2.9 to be officially announced.
