Bundle up, because Star Wars Battlefront will begin its beta in early October for PS4, Xbox One and PC. As a technical test, Rebels and Imperial soldiers will be fighting it out on snow and ice with the Walker Assault on Hoth mission. The game features 40-player combat, complete with towering walkers, and cameos by the series' most iconic characters: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

Additionally, the beta will include a cooperative mode called Survival Mission on Tatooine, where two players must defend against waves of oncoming soldiers.

Lastly, the developers have also announced a new mode called Drop Zone, which will be playable during the beta. Details on the new mode will be revealed in the coming weeks leading up to October.

Star Wars releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17.
