Cliff Bleszinski's LawBreakers gets its first gameplay trailer

The first gameplay trailer of LawBreakers has been released. In it, we learn of some of the character classes we can expect to play as when it's released.

Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski announced his next project, LawBreakers, earlier this week. Today, we’re getting a first look at the game in action in a new trailer.

The LawBreakers gameplay trailer shows us one of the maps we can expect to play on called Grand Canyon 2105. The trailer introduces us to some of the characters in LawBreakers, which includes Kitsune the Assassin, Breacher the Gunner, Maverick the Skirmisher, and Cronos the Titan.

Each character has their own abilities and weaponry as Kitsune appears to favor knives for her attacks, while Breacher wields an assault rifle and a sentry gun over his left shoulder.

You can check out the gameplay trailer for yourself below. As of now, we know it's scheduled to release in 2016, but we don't know what platforms LawBreakers will be launched on. Based on today's trailer, we wouldn't be surprised if it comes to PC.

It looks really nice but the art style and theming doesn't draw me in.

Hah, was thinking the same thing. Aesthetics aside, it definitely looks more fun than CoD 2015

      Hmmmmm....

Mostly makes me want to play Overwatch.

      Snarky remarks aside:
      - Looks pretty!
      - Class names are super boring.
      - Character designs are hard to tell apart.
      - Voice acting script is trying too hard.

Hmmm... will keep an eye on it, but so far not super impressed.

This actually looks pretty interesting. Rocket jumps, grappling hooks, back firing,.. might take some skills to master.

Yeah, right? I just watched the Overwatch gameplay trailer the other day and this felt extremely similar.

We need a "yawn" tag for this one.

I really don't get the theme , the cinematic made it seem like law enforcement in the future, this one has a bunch of random characters fighting on the edge of the Grand Canyon?

Yeah, I get that weird ut2k4 vibe from it where Egyptian characters are fighting it out in castles using futuristic weapons.

So they're breaking the laws of physics? Is that why LawBreakers? Looks like Overwatch gameplay with Doom/Quake aesthetics.

I think I like the look and feel of overwatch better and will probably play that, if they ever release it.

I'm trying to think of what a modern arena shooter could do to get me to play it for more than a week, and coming up mostly empty. This certainly isn't adding anything I wouldn't have thought of.

Looks nice I dig the grappler hook whip thing it was nice and smooth, reminds me of Bionic Commando the 3D one by Capcom, characters are cool to.

I don't think it helps that Overwatch is coming out too or does it matter?

Well there sure are going to be a lot of FPS completive shooters that is for sure which will be the best we shall see.

It was cool they have the rocket jump in that vid.

One thing I noticed when watching the video I could not help but want a SP FPS in this world/characters etc that was actually the first thing that I thought of not sure why.

It looks and feels like Overwatch and Halo. At least you can scale upward in these small levels it seems. Where Overwatch is nothing but single story maze shooting.

Both of these games feel so slow to me though.

      "Skirmisher"?

That's when you know you're out of unique and catchy class names. Skirmisher tells me absolutely nothing about what type of class it is.

Instead of crafting a bunch of interesting personalities or characterizations, they went with "douchebag" for all of them. Neat.
