Microsoft has announced it lineup of games that will be made available for free for Xbox Live Gold members through its Games with Gold promotion.

Starting on September 1, Xbox One owners will be able to pick up indie sidescroller The Deer God while Xbox 360 users can snag the World War 2 tactical and action simulator, Battlestations: Pacific. The second half of the month is a bit more exciting as Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Crysis 3 will be available on Xbox One and Xbox 360, respectively.

Microsoft also reminds users all future Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles will support the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature, which is expected to launch some time in November 2015.

With the upcoming release of Rise of the Tomb Raider on November 10, it’s a smart move for Microsoft to offer the original game for those who may have missed it the first time around. The Definitive Edition features improved graphics and all of the previously-released DLC, including the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer, six outfits for Lara, a digital mini art book, and a digital comic.

After playing crysis and warhead countless times I have played through 2 maybe 2-3 times.

I am curious about three but man after 2 the interest level in three is really low.

Or just acquire it, and don't even install it. Then you can choose to do what you want, when you want. But take advantage of free while you can!

I can already hear the gnashing of teeth from people disappointed with ps plus's September freebies.

Never mind that these two games were plus freebies a long while ago

I'm interested in The Deer God, but reviews don't look great. Anybody play that one?
