Xbox One preview program won't be accepting many new users from now on
Microsoft program manager Emily Hanson revealed it will now be a little bit harder to get into the Xbox One preview program due to a 'tremendous response' from users.
Xbox One owners who have yet to get into the consoles preview program will now find it even more difficult to take part in it as Microsoft is slowing down the rate which it accepts new registrations.
Microsoft program manager Emily Hanson announced this change through the preview program section of the Xbox forums. “Due to a tremendous response from our fans, the Xbox Preview program has reached a near capacity level,” Hanson writes. “With that in mind, we are slowing the number of new people we are accepting to optimize for testing.”
It’s interesting to see Microsoft receive such a large response from users to take part in the Xbox One preview program. The company should consider making the program more widely available for those who are curious enough to check out future features before they’re released to all Xbox One consoles. Something like an icon on the dashboard to download a "beta" version of the Xbox One software would be nice, although the risk of accidentally bricking a console could be pretty high with that route.
