Volume on Vita delayed 'for a couple weeks'

Volume is set to release tomorrow, but its Vita version has hit a sudden snag and will need a few more weeks before its release.

Mike Bithell's sound-based stealth game, Volume, is scheduled to release tomorrow on PC and PlayStation 4. However, the Vita version that was also set to arrive has hit a sudden snag. The Thomas Was Alone creator is now say the handheld version will need a few more weeks before it can be released.

"Unfortunately, we unexpectedly had to make the decision to hold off on the Vita version for a couple weeks to get it where we want it," Bithell said on the Volume website. "It’s so very nearly ready, but it needs a little more love. A few personal problems and issues have slowed down our submittal, so even though the game is “done” on Vita, we still have some QA process to go through (because that stuff matters)."

Bithell does note that the cross-buy incentive for the PlayStation versions will remain in effect. That means that picking the game up for PS4 will still net you the Vita version whenever it does end up releasing.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
