Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 demo takes the pitch
While much of the soccer attention is lavished on FIFA, Pro Evolution Soccer is also celebrating its 20th anniversary and the 2016 edition's demo is now available to try.
For all the hoopla surrounding Konami's troubles, there is one area where the company appears to be doing pretty well and that's on the pitch. While most of the attention is being lavished on the FIFA series, the Pro Evolution Soccer series continues to hold its own, most recently taking home a second consecutive Gamescom "Best Sports Game" award.
To celebrate this accolade, Konami has released the demo for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, offering a glimpse at the 20th anniversary installment's new features. PES 2016 includes improved one-on-one interactions, like feints, tackles, and aerials with teammates able to join together for combination plays. This will also be the series' third year with the Fox Engine, meaning new animations (which does include flops and missed goal reactions) and improved pitch and weather textures. PES 2016 will also debut player-selected celebrations, for when you want to rub your success in the other team's face.
Look for the demo to include 6-10 matches featuring the French and Brazilian national teams. The Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 demo is up now on the Xbox and PlayStation stores with the full game set to release on September 15.
