This tournament is double elimination, right? What happens in the scenario where the winner's bracket team loses to the loser's bracket team in the grand finals? Do they play again as that would be the first loss for the winner's bracket team?
I remember that this is how it happened for me in my 8th grade basketball tournament. My team (Mt. View) lost in the first round to Highland Park. We then had to beat Cedar Hills, Meadow Park, Five Oaks, and Whitford in the loser's bracket to get to the finals to face Highland Park again. Now, our team was 2-7 in the regular season with only getting a win against Cedar Hills and Meadow Park. No one thought we'd be in the finals. We tore into Highland Park to win the first game of the finals, but since it was double elimination, we had to beat them again, which we did. That's right! I was able to participate in a scrappy underdog story that would rival movies like Might Ducks or Bad News Bears.
So... Is the International set up for such a situation, or if, let's say, Secret makes it to the grand finals and defeats CDEC there, is the tournament over or would they need to defeat CDEC again? -

When there is this really good item for your hero that you can't get because of your team strategy than that probably indicates a problem with either your strategy or your draft. Anyway how many times have we seen Zeus this tournament? I think I saw one of the western team try to make zeus/bloodseeker work and it failed miserably. He's not a meta hero at all so it's interesting seeing a team have success with him.

Silencer discussion!
So, I'm a big fan of silencer, especially in this current meta. There's a lot of popular heroes right now all about jump mechanics or burst damage, so this patch I've been playing Silencer a lot as a position 4->3 as I ramp up with kills and int steal.
So, with that in mind, I watch Wagamama's stream pretty regularly, and over the last month or so, I had been posing the question to Waga why pro players didn't use Silencer more often in pro matches, asking if it was because he was too dependent on his ulti and too innefective in team fights during the cooldown. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago right before TI started, he finally noticed my question in the twitch chat and answered that he thought Silencer was still a strong hero in this patch and he was surprised he wasn't picked more often.
So now it seems like we're seeing a lot of Silencer, which makes me super excited because I think he's such a great hero in this meta for shutting down a team when they try to jump/initiate. But I'm curious why he's making more of an apperance so late into TI.
Anyone have any insight into why Silencer has been so rarely picked this patch, but he's back in the mix now?-
He's been picked lately because Lina, qop, and SS have all had very high (>50%) win rates. Global silence shuts them down in key teamfights or pick offs.
I don't think he was picked previous to that because to be effective you have to play him as a core, and there are enough cores to go around. Support silencer has been coming out a bit, so that mindset is changing.

i don't think you can see all 28 players but i think that's the only shot i took unfortunately. dat resolution. might be other screenshots in the thread (from 2009 if the file data is right) but i'm not gonna try and look for that.

If I queue at rush hour I usually have an all english crew that wants to win. If I queue at 1:00 am I might get people who don't speak english and demand mid and safelane and I have to mute them immediately. In all fairness I did get a good game tonight but I'm frustrated I didn't win.
Pick stun people. If you don't know what to pick... pick stun. Stun wins games. It doesn't matter how hard you feed as earthshaker, he is still scary as shit.
