Gamescom 2015: StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void gets new Allied Commanders co-op mode
Blizzard had several announcements lined up for Gamescom 2015 and it was a sure bet that one of those would surround StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. This one will be a treat for co-op players, as Blizzard has unveiled a whole new game mode called Allied Commanders
Blizzard continued its private Gamescom 2015 media briefing with a look at StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. While the game is already in beta, it's set to receive some new content in the form of a brand new game mode called Allied Commanders.
As the name might imply, Allied Commanders is a new horde-type mode that puts players in a co-op setting against the AI. Players will have to complete objectives over the course of the game, while also making sure to take out any hostiles. Playable characters for this mode include Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis, each of which will have their own distinct abilities and advantages on the battlefield.
As players complete missions in Allied Commanders, they'll level up and unlock upgrades and new units. All of the unlockable abilities will be powerful, but most effective when working as a team. No release date was given for this new game mode, but more information can be found on Battle.net.
