Gamescom 2015: Rainbow Six Siege will include Spectator Cam for 5v5 multiplayer
For those that like to sit back and watch the action, an 11th spot will be available in all Rainbow Six Siege 5v5 multiplayer sessions for a Spectator Cam.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is already looking to contain some intense action, but now it's getting a few more features to help sprinkle things up just a little more. Ubisoft revealed at this year's Gamescom that the game will contain a few features for those that simply like to sit back and watch the mayhem unfold.
All 5v5 multiplayer games will feature an option for an 11th player to jump in via the new Spectator Cam feature. Not only can this user observe the movements of all players through the traditional first-person perspective, they can also switch to a tactical overhead view that reveals everyone's location. This appears to be quite a boost for the eSports element of Siege, as it will make it much easier for would-be commentators to call the action.
The Spectator Cam will debut as a beta in both LAN and custom online games for PC at launch, while console users will need to wait until early 2016. Rainbow Six Siege is set to launch on October 13. For more on the game, Ubisoft will be offering a live stream this coming Saturday on the publisher's official Twitch channel.
