Arena of Fate kicks off its closed beta at Gamescom 2015

It's been over a year since Crytek first announced its plans to step into the Arena of Fate. It now appears that the time for battle is now, as it has announced the official launch of the MOBA's closed beta.

As with most other MOBAs, Arena of Fate is a 5v5 affair that invites in many of history's greatest figures to do battle. This includes the great Sherlock Holmes, Nikola Tesla, and Cleopatra, among others. Games are held with a 20-minute time limit, with teams scrambling to finish with a higher score.

Gamescom 2015 attendees will have the first crack at the open beta, as will those that have previously signed up. Of course, there is still time to jump in. Those interested can sign up over on the Arena of Fate website. There is currently no timetable for Arena of Fate's final launch.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
