Endless Space 2 announced and setting course for Gamescom 2015
Amplitude Studios is ready to follow up on 2012's Endless Space by introducing Endless Space 2 to a captive Gamescom audience next week.
Amplitude Studios is ready to return to the cosmos, announcing a follow-up to its 2012 4X strategy game, Endless Space. Endless Space 2 will officially debut at this year's Gamescom and the developer has posted a quick teaser to get players excited.
For those unfamiliar with the first Endless Space, the game put players in the role of one of eight civilizations. The idea was to dominate the galaxy through brute force or through trade and diplomacy across hundreds of star systems. Dominance would be determined by whoever could control Dust, the lone remainder of a lost civilization called the Endless.
Endless Space 2 is not only seeking to follow up on the first game, but the trailer also alludes to connections with an overarching timeline that contains other 'Endless' games like Endless Legend and Dungeon of the Endless. Those looking for a more interactive version of the trailer above can visit the Endless Space 2 website.

The first Endless Space is a really good looking game with a great UI, and it has all of the basic mechanics to be a good turn based strategy game. I put a fair number of hours into it. But for some reason any time I think of that game it feels sort of hollow. I'm not even really sure why. I really hope this sequel can feel more...I guess "alive" would be the best word I could use.

This looks great. I'm a huge fan of their games and universe. I have to say in many ways these lines of games have made me stop playing the Civ games which I loved so much for many years.
In any case, simply by the look of this new teaser and the accompanying music, I get the feeling that this new ES will be much more in-line with the other games than the first one ever was.
I'm very much looking forward to this game.
