Twitch broadcasters can now livestream Android games, but there's a catch
A new app finally allows Twitch broadcasters to livestream their Android games onto the service, but there's a catch you're going to want to know.
Twitch and Sony Mobile have teamed up to feature its mobile broadcasting app for Android devices and is currently available on the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4v, and Xperia Z4 Tablet.
The Screen Recorder app allows players to broadcast most of their mobile game sessions to Twitch’s audience of over 100 million unique visitors per month. Watching Twitch on mobile devices has been particularly big for the video streaming service as its mobile app has achieved close to 35 million installs, and averages 4.3 billion minutes watched by 12 million unique viewers. So being able to stream mobile games on Twitch is something we’re sure many have been looking forward to for quite some time.
As of now, the Screen Recorder app is only available on the previously listed Sony Mobile devices. There’s currently no word when or if the app will make its way to other Android devices considering it was developed by Sony Mobile.
We’ve reached out to Twitch and Sony Mobile to see if Screen Recorder or a similar app will be available on additional Android devices.
