Into the Stars enters Steam Early Access next week
Iceberg Interactive has announced Into the Stars will be entering Steam Early Access next week. With over $100,000 in funding from Kickstarter, many space-sim fans are looking forward to its upcoming release.
Iceberg Interactive and Fugitive Games have announced Into the Stars will launch into Steam Early Access on July 9 at 9am PDT.
Into the Stars is an open-world space survival simulator that’s been built using Unreal Engine 4. The game has players assuming the role of Captain as they explore a massive star system in search of a new home for humanity. Each journey has players outfitting their ships, hand-picking their crew, shelter civilians, scavenge resources, and outrun hostile alien forces in order to survive.
Into the Stars features a challenging volley-based combat as players will choose their target points and battle stations during combat. The player’s ship can be equipped with a number of weapon systems.
Into the Stars is yet another game that can acredit its success to Kickstarter as its campaign raised over $100,000 from over 4,000 backers. With games like Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen gaining in popularity, a game like Into the Stars could do relatively well, especially since it’s currently a single-player experience. That means Captains can focus on what’s going on within the game without having to worry about outside influences, like jerk Captains, ruining things for less-experienced players.
