Final Fantasy 7 PC port scheduled for holiday release on PS4
The PC port, not the 2017 remake, is set to be released on PS4 this winter.
Final Fantasy 7 will be coming to PlayStation 4 winter 2015. However, the holiday release date relates to the PC port of the original PlayStation game, not the remake Square Enix announced at E3.
Square Enix prices Final Fantasy 7 at $15.99 on their website. A list of features for the PC version includes new achievements, the ability to save your game anywhere via cloud technology, and the character booster. This last feature allows gamers to significantly increase their HP and gil to eliminate some of the grind. Whether or not these additions will be incorporated in the PS4 edition is still unknown.
Although it is not the remake everyone is waiting for, this port should be enough to hold over fans until Final Fantasy 7 is reimagined in high definition in 2017.

yah the FF7 remake is probably at least 3 years away... I bet we might see some gameplay footage in ~2yrs. I kinda got the feeling there isn't much game yet other than maybe various assets and models. Maybe some FMV stuff has been done as the trailer looked damn good.
I will say I'm a little worried about this remake... I hope they don't completely destroy it to the point were it doesn't feel like FF7 anymore.

wait, so... FF7 first released on the PS... then they ported FF7 to the PC... then over a decade later ported it to PC again, on Steam... now they are porting the Steam PC port of FF7 to the PS4 by the end of 2015... and then a few more years down the road, they will release the FF7 remake on PS4.... did i get all that right?

I'm wondering why they are pushing back a port. It has been announced for quite some time that it would make is way too PS4. This will make what, almost a year to port it to the new hardware? I would think release it when everyone is getting all crazy about the remake. It's in people's minds, put it in their hands too.
