It took a massive Kickstarter and several delays, but earlier this year, Project Cars arrived on PC and consoles. But it's taken far less time for Slightly Mad Studios to announce that a sequel is already planned.

Project Cars 2 will build upon the foundation set by the first game. It will feature over 200 courses across 50 locations, which will include racing atop different surfaces like dirt, mud, and snow. Over 200 cars will be available across 40 different vehicle classes, all playable over the course of a co-op career.

No word on a release window or supported platforms for Project Cars 2 at this time. For more information on Project Cars 2, be sure to visit the Project Cars website. Those looking to support the game can, once again, go the crowdfunding route by taking a look at the five membership tiers.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
