E3 2015: Mass Effect Andromeda announced
EA and BioWare have finally revealed a new Mass Effect game is currently in development.
It’s been over three years since EA and BioWare released Mass Effect 3, and today, both companies are coming together once again for a new Mass Effect title. EA opened today's press conference with a trailer for "Mass Effect: Andromeda." The short teaser gave a holiday 2016 release window, and it will be coming to PC and current-gen consoles.
The announcement promises new worlds and new characters, distinct from Shepard's original trilogy saga. You'll once again take the role of a male or female protagonist to explore the Andromeda galaxy. It does note that the character we saw in the cinematic trailer, below, isn't actually the player character.

Teaser trailer up. Too much tease not enough meat. :( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG8V9dRqSsw

There was a huge "leak" a few months ago that this pretty heavily indicates is accurate: http://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/32yzxf/last_month_i_took_a_random_survey_about_mass/

This could be really fantastic. I hope they go away from the overarching end of the universe plot line and focus on space exploration. Maybe each game in the new series could be set in a different galaxy? With that said I am a massive ME fan boy so I don't care what the plot is I'll buy this game on launch day.

That's... not what I expected. This was the game I was most excited for, but that music was awful and didn't feel even remotely connected to ME, and it felt very action-focused, which was never the point of the series for me.
It seems weird that it'd be in a different galaxy, potentially wasting all the great lore they've developed. Also I thought even the Reapers didn't have the tech to move between galaxies.
I still have hope that it'll be great, though -
