E3 2015: Ryu from Street Fighter and Roy leaked for Super Smash Bros. Wii U, 3DS
Some of Nintendo's big news surrounding Super Smash Bros. has been leaked as both Ryu and Roy will be entering the ring.
Nintendo is set to make a major announcement regarding Super Smash Bros. tomorrow morning, but it appears some eagle-eyed fans of the series have discovered Street Fighter’s Ryu and Fire Emblem’s Roy will be making an appearance in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Nintendo’s popular fighting series.
The leak comes from data miners exploiting the Japanese update for both games that was released earlier than they were supposed to. In addition to Ryu and Roy, a number of other assets were discovered including a Splatoon trophy, some new stages like DreamLand 64, and Mii costumes from the Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Mega Man, and Animal Crossing series. Ryu’s stage from Street Fighter II was also discovered.
This isn’t the first leak Nintendo has faced prior to its E3 Digital Showcase as the 3DS version of Hyrule Warrios was also leaked by Koei Tecmo earlier this week. The leak came by way of a YouTube video on Koei Tecmo’s official YouTube channel showcasing Hyrule Warriors on the 3DS, although it was taken down shortly after. These are two substantial surprises Nintendo had up its sleeve entering E3 2015, although it doesn’t deter us from being excited about these two pieces of news. We look forward to see what else the company has up its sleeves, that is, unless everything gets leaked prior to their showcase.

This link has a complete breakdown of his moveset. He's actually really unique as, unlike ever other character, he has input specific moves, like Street Fighter. For example, normal Hadoken is set to neutral special, which is B, in this game. But, if you do a quarter-circle special, the Hadoken does more damage. Doing a half-circle special makes it slower, but bigger and hit multiple times. Up-B is Shoryuken in this game, but if you do Forward, Down, Down-Forward, it does more damage. Every special, including his side b Tatsumaki Senpukyaku and his Down b Focus Attack are like this. For his regular A attacks, a quick tap will make it do the weak version, and hold it for the strong version, and you can cancel and stuff. I'm not a street fighter fan, but i've already seen fans online saying that he can cancel his attacks and do combos similar or the same as in Street Fighter, which would probably make him the most input technical fighter in the roster so far.-

Some special attacks can be charged, i.e. Fire Emblem characters sword, Samus' charge beam, etc., so the duration of button presses determines attack strength. But if we're just talking about standard attacks, disregarding smash attacks, no. Ryu's definitely a character that's going to be unique to the Smash roster, but I would love to hear a competitive Street Fighter fan comment on his moveset.

Oh yea, and Ryu's the first smash characters to have two Final Smashes.

The first is used if the enemy is close. The second is used if the enemy is far. Cool stuff.

Ryu is an awesome addition, and I love Roy being back being a big fan of Smash Bros. Melee and the Fire Emblem series. I know some people here are going to hate on there being 4 Fire Emblem characters, but the Fire Emblem series is huge in Japan and Roy was easily the most wanted veteren of Smash to come back after Mewtwo. Plus, it's a lot easier clone a character than to make a new one from scratch. It's an easy way to make people who want him happy and make Nintendo big money. Coupling him with a big new 3rd party character makes his entrance more known to people who don't follow the Smash scene since "Ryu and Roy join Smash 4" is a much better headline than just "Roy returns to the Smash series."
