Konami announces new Yu-Gi-Oh game for PS4 and Xbox One
It's been years since a new Yu-Gi-Oh game has been released, but Konami will change that this year as Legacy of the Duelist is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this summer.
Konami has announced a new Yu-Gi-Oh game, titled Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer.
Legacy of the Duelist will have players replaying events from the Yu-Gi-Oh! timeline, which includes the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series up to Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. The game will feature the storylines, characters, and Decks within a new story campaign as well as the option to duel against characters from the newest generation of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. Additional Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V duels will be added after Legacy of the Duelist’s release through DLC.
Over 6,600 card will be available to play with, which includes new Pendulum Summon Monsters. Players can fight in hundreds of matches with over 90 characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh series, and even compete in new Battle Pack Sealed Deck and Draft play with other players online.
The collectible-card game genre has been taking off over the past few years, especially with the release of Blizzard's Hearthstone. While we weren't the biggest fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh TV series, we did enjoy some of its games. Since we have the CCG itch around the Shacknews office, we'll be sure to keep an eye out for this one once it releases.
