Shack's Arcade Corner - CarnEvil
Re-enter the carnival of the damned, as ringmaster Greg Burke welcomes Shack's Arcade Corner to CarnEvil.
The evil carnival is an idea that's largely unexplored in games. And given the grand potential that freak shows, circuses, and haunted carnivals carries for a promise, that's somewhat surprising. But there was one arcade game in the late 90s that took this concept and absolutely ran with it.
That game is CarnEvil, a violent on-rails shooter from Midway Games, publisher of such violent hits as Mortal Kombat. Join Greg Burke as he talks about what set this 1998 arcade cabinet apart from its contemporaries, while also discussing the many horrific images sprinkled throughout. Zombies, clown, spiders, bats, and massive bosses that provide gallons of nightmare fuel fill up CarnEvil, a game that shockingly has not been ported since its original release.
