Dragon Quest Heroes flees to PlayStation 4 this October in North America
Square Enix has confirmed Dragon Quest Heroes will be coming to the PlayStation 4 this fall as well as revealing a special collector's edition for the title.
Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below will be available on the PlayStation 4 on October 13 in North America.
Dragon Quest Heroes is being developed by Omega Force, which is the studio behind a number of Dynasty Warrior and Samurai Warriors titles as well as last year’s Wii U-exclusive Hyrule Warriors. That means this title will play more like a hack-n-slash role-playing game rather than a more traditional RPG, which fans of the Dragon Quest series may be accustomed to.
Players will fight as either Luceus or Aurora as they fight back monsters that have been frenzied due to a dark shockwave sweeping its way through the city of Arba. The heroes will join forces with a number of iconic characters from the Dragon Quest series, such as Alena, Bianca, and Yangus, in order to bring the frenzied monsters to their senses and to restore peace to the kingdom.
Dragon Quest Heroes will be available in two editions: Day One Edition and Slime Collector’s Edition. The Day One Edition will offer slime-themed downloadable content which includes a Slime Sword, Gooey Gloves, Goomerang, Squishing Rod, and Gungenir. The Slime Collector’s Edition will feature the same DLC content with additional gear Goopid’s Bow, Slime-on-a-Stick, Gooreat Sword, and Splat O’Nine Tails, bonus quest items, and a Slime Plushie, Slime Key Chain and Slime Lanyard. The Slime Collector's Edition can be pre-ordered exclusively at Square Enix's online store for $99.
