Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment and Lost Song hit PS4 in 2015
Bandai Namco has announced two new Sword Art Online games will be hitting the PlayStation 4 this year.
Bandai Namco is bringing both Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Lost Song to the West on the PlayStation 4 in fall 2015, with the latter of the two also getting a PS Vita release.
Both titles feature original stories based Sword Art Online, which started out as a light novel back in 2009 and became an anime in 2012. The series follows the simulated Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game gameplay from the original Sword Art Online storyline.
In Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment, players will play as Kirito as he fights through all the levels of Aincrad in order to break free from being locked within the virtual game world. Both the PlayStation 4 and Vita versions will be able to interact by allowing the latter to transfer some items to the former. DLC from the Vita version will be unlockable on the PlayStation 4 version some time in the future.
Sword Art Online: Lost Song will focus on the more fantasy-focused world of ALfheim Online and will resemble more of an action RPG that will feature a completely original story created specifically for the game. Players will once again fight as Kirito, although both Leafa and Silica will be fighting alongside him.
