Twitch now available on Roku players and Roku TV
Twitch continues to expand its reach, with the streaming service now available on Roku players and Roku smart TVs.
Twitch has been spreading to a number of platforms, including several consoles. Now the streaming service has announced that it is coming to Roku players and Roku TV models. The move will allow Twitch to increase its reach, a particularly important move ahead of June's E3 event.
"Gamers are voracious consumers of content, with extremely tech-savvy media consumption habits," Director of Business Development Brooke Van Dusen said via a press release. "It's now more important than ever for Twitch to be available everywhere gamers are, and increasingly, that's on set-top boxes like Roku players and smart TVs such as Roku TV. The Twitch community has been asking for a Roku channel for a long time, and we're finally able to deliver."
Twitch's reach has only expanded in the past couple of years, which has helped lead to a massive sale to Amazon late last year. With over 1.5 million broadcasters, the platform looks to continue its growth, which will include its own convention later this year.
Roku users can find Twitch on the Roku Channel Store on either their Roku player or their Roku TV.
