Deep Silver delays Mighty No. 9 to September 15
Mighty No. 9 was expected to be released some time this month, but it turns out it's been delayed until September now that Deep Silver has taken over.
Deep Silver and comcept have partnered to release Mighty No. 9 both digitally and in retail stores September 15 in the US and September 18 worldwide.
The partnership provides comcept with additional resources to add value to Mighty No. 9, which includes an additional piece of downloadable content where players can fight through a new stage that includes a battle with Beck’s rival, Ray. Upon completion, Ray will be available as a playable character for the main campaign, adding both unique skills and new gameplay mechanics. The Ray DLC will be available in all retail editions and will be provided to Kickstarter backers for free upon release.
Additional resources includes Japanese and French voice-over support in addition to the already planned English voice over and improved localization as English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polish, Brazilian, and Portuguese subtitles will be available. Deep Silver will also be handling all sales and marketing efforts.
Mighty No. 9 was expected to be released in April 2015, but will now will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, Linux, and Mac on September 15 while a PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS are expected to be released at a later date.

Huh crazy, well first off I have to say I was super juiced up to get the game when I first heard of it and I went forth and backed it on KS.
I was pumped when they said it look like this on the KS page :

Clearly it looks nothing close to it and I will go ahead and say it looks pretty bad visually:

So I take it they are no longer indie after the millions raised with KS and Paypal since they went with a big publisher? Seems like a trend with all these medium and large companies on KS they all end up with publishers and only leverage the term "indie game developer" at first. Actually have you guys noticed almost all the KS end up with publishers, you almost think there are no real indie devs left, well it seems that way. Does anyone care as a customer/gamer? or the thoughts are just give me a good game I don't care how you do it?
Another question to you guys has the term "indie developer" been bastardized and abused and taken advantage of? Should you even be considered indie the moment you have help from any publisher? Does it matter?
Sad to see that with a purchased engine as powerful as UE4, all the funding and a publisher the team could not match the concept target shown on KS.
