Idea Factory has announced Omega Quintet will be available on the PlayStation 4 on April 28.
Omega Quintet is a JRPG / Idol Simulator that puts the player in the shoes of a manager / bodyguard of an all-girls pop-idol group called Verse Maidens. The world around you is slowly being consumed by a force known as “Blare,” and it’s up to the Verse Maidens to fight them through the power of turning their microphones into weapons.
The girls that are in the group each have their own backstory and personalities, such as Otoha, who is the player’s childhood friend, and Kyouka, who is the wise and responsible one. Each girl is proficient in special weapons, which range from giant hammers to guns, although they could also wield any weapon and build up their strength with each of them.
When the Verse Maidens aren’t fighting rats and robots, you’ll be able to enter PVS Mode, where you’ll be able to choreograph the group’s performances. You’ll be able to choose camera angles, which member performs when, the outfits, who gets their moment in the spotlight, and choreography. There are nearly a hundred moves available, so every performance is unique. Players can even add themselves to each performance through the use of the PlayStation 4 Camera and add some special flavor with the Move controller.
