Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns first closed beta details revealed

ArenaNet brought Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns to this year's PAX East and has released some new details regarding the first closed beta, which is set to begin very soon.

ArenaNet brought the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion to PAX East before packing up and hitting next week's Rezzed event. As the weekend kicked off, the studio announced some new details regarding the closed beta.

Closed beta participants will be selected from among active players, as well as those that have subscribed to the Guild Wars 2 newsletter. Only a small number of players will be selected from the pool, since many of the expansion's contents are still being refined. The Guild Wars 2 website post specifically points to this beta helping stress core systems.

In fact, ArenaNet is fully encouraging player feedback by tossing out the idea of a nondisclosure agreement. Those selected to be a part of the beta are encouraged to go public with any of their findings, which includes live streaming and posting videos. Feedback will be taken into account and will help further round out the Heart of Thorns development process.

Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is coming soon to PC and Mac.
