Shack's Arcade Corner: The Simpsons arcade cabinet
In the latest edition of Shack's Arcade Corner, Greg checks out The Simpsons and breaks down one of the greatest arcade brawlers to come out of the early 90s.
Ah, The Simpsons arcade game. With about 25 years' worth of retrospect, this is one of those games that should be a complete headscratcher to anyone that's ever watched more than five minutes of the classic animated sitcom it's based on. Why is Smithers robbing a jewelry store with explosives? Why is Lisa using a jump rope as a weapon? Where did Mr. Burns find some of these minions? But narrative questions aside, there's no denying that The Simpsons is one of the greatest arcade brawlers ever made.
So join Greg Burke as he breaks down what made The Simpsons such a beloved classic. Beyond being the solid Konami brawler, he'll explain about the co-op attacks, the mini-games, and the game's appeal to arcade-goers at the near-height of Simpsons popularity.
