It appears the recent rumor of a Gold Mario amiibo being in development may have been true all along as we’re hearing reports of its upcoming availability as a Walmart exclusive.

A Reddit user posted a photo of what appears to be a Walmart promotion for Nintendo’s upcoming party game, Mario Party 10. The promotion says “Make this Easter golden” along with an image of the Gold Mario amiibo and a small “Only at Walmart” logo underneath the figure.

I have yet to hear official confirmation from either Nintendo or Walmart regarding this possible leaked promotional image, although I reached out to Nintendo to see if there’s any validity to it. I’m sure I’ll get the typical “we don’t respond to rumors or speculation,” but I wouldn’t be doing my job as an amiibo hunter if I didn’t try to get a response.

In the meantime, prepare to get your pre-orders in to Walmart as I’m sure the Gold Mario amiibo figure will sell out extremely fast.
