Xbox One controller update offers quicker boot ups
Do you wish your Xbox One controller would connect to your console in under two seconds? Well, Microsoft has done just that in their latest firmware update.
Microsoft has released a new Xbox One controller firmware update for its Xbox Preview Program participants that offers a quicker connection when powering up your controllers as well as some stability improvements.
Prior to this firmware update, it would take an Xbox One controller roughly 4 to 5 seconds in order to connect with the console. With today’s update, controllers should now connect in under 2 seconds, leaving you with 2 to 3 precious seconds of your life back.
The less flashy feature in this firmware update is stability improvements which provides a number of fixes that address issues that have been submitted by other customers and preview participants. What these changes are isn’t made clear by Microsoft, so your guess is as good as ours what these improvements are.
If you’re an Xbox Preview Program participant, you should head over to the Devices & accessories area of your console and initiate the update. Just remember you need to have your controller plugged in to update it. Speaking of which, Microsoft should really look into offering these updates wirelessly.
Just sayin’.
