Sony apologizes for PSN downtime with 10% PS Store discount this weekend
Whether or not you experienced PlayStation Network's downtime during the holidays, Sony is apologizing with a 10% PlayStation Store discount this weekend.
Sony is staying true to its promise of offering a 10% PlayStation Store discount after hackers made its PlayStation Network completely inaccessible over the holidays and in early 2015.
The 10% discount will be valid from 9am PT on January 23 through 9am PT on January 26. Sony will provide a promotion code for a one-time discount off eligible items within a total cart purchase within its PlayStation Store on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or on its store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com website. Some exclusions do apply, which includes subscriptions for PS Plus, Music Unlimited, PS Now, and rental video content. Thankfully, it appears pre-orders are currently eligible.
In addition to this 10% discount, Sony is also rolling out a 5-day PS Plus membership extension for all members impacted by the PSN service interruptions. An email will be sent out within the next few days to confirm the extension on these PS Plus accounts, although no action is required to initiate the extension.
