One of the upcoming indie games that may be flying under a lot of radars is Dissident Logic's Paperbound. The game has made the rounds at a couple of events, including PlayStation Experience, where we caught up to the game's artist, Josh Sorenson.

For those unfamiliar with Paperbound, the game is a 2D competitive platformer for up to four players, along the lines of something like Towerfall Ascension. The idea is to slice opponents with your sword or with a special projectile. While running across the ground or up walls and ceilings, an anti-gravity mechanic will allow players to float back-and-forth onto whole new surfaces. All of it takes place along a stylized book-like backdrop.

Sorenson briefly discusses what Paperbound is, the roster of recognizable indie gaming characters set to make cameos, and the game's unique mechanics. Check out the full interview below. We've also tossed in the game's trailer below that. Paperbound is coming soon to PlayStation 4 and PC.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
