Ubisoft delays Assassin's Creed Unity patch 4
The fourth patch for Assassin's Creed Unity has been delayed in order to offer players the "major performance improvements" Ubisoft believes its customers deserve.
Ubisoft released its third major patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity a few weeks ago, which was said to address 300+ bugs. The publisher said it would be releasing its fourth major patch this week, but unfortunately, they’ve announced it has been put on hold.
In a new post published on the Assassin’s Creed Live Updates website, Ubisoft states they are choosing to hold off on releasing the patch until they can offer the improvements they’ve promised in the past. “We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve,” says the statement.
The statement also says Ubisoft considers rigorous quality control to be of paramount importance to the publisher, and according to feedback from its fans, they’re very well aware it’s important to us as well. Hopefully this means they’ll work much harder when it comes to quality control for future titles, although they’ll still have quite the black eye for several months.

Even if they fix the framerate issues and other bugs, the game isn't that good. It's serviceable, but very very lazy. I loved Black Flag, but I think Unity just shows they're out of ideas and have taken the series as far as it can go. I'd love to be proven wrong, but given the accelerated pace of kicking these games out, I doubt the next one will be any better.

There is no animus in Unity. I mean, I guess there is, but you never leave the animus. Abstergo became a video game company in Black Flag (this is true) and now you're just a gamer or something playing someone else's DNA-memories or something. I don't even know anymore. Otherwise, they're not really looking for "pieces of Eden". I mean I guess they are because it plays a part in Unity, but they're really looking for "Sages" now.

There's an IGN video that sums up the entire Assassin's Creed plot prior to Unity. If you watch it, you'll see just how stupid the entire story is (or be reminded). I liked the stories in the animus more. Like Ezio's revenge in AC2 or him going up against the Borgia in Brotherhood. I thought Black Flag had a good story in the animus. Unity's story isn't unique. It's a love story about a Templar and an Assassin. It's not even original to the series because we already covered that with Altair.
