How the hell would they remake the game? Fun fact, in Midgar at the start of the game, in some of the random encounters you fight a house! How do that with modern graphics without people just going WTF? I loved fighting the house that can shoot rockets and jump up and slam down on top of you back in the day, but I am older now and can see were this would just look silly now. There are reasons they have not remade this game, lack of demand is not one of them, but there is no way they can make a remake that people will be happy with.

That's not even scary looking. I mean had it been a gazebo trying to look like a house? Maybe.
But honestly: http://www.comedycorner.org/90.html

Regardless of graphics this is a trip down memory lane that I will want to take again someday, I simply don't know if I could put in 10 plus hours of chocobo breeding and racing to get that golden chocobo again. There are parts of this game that were amazing, but there was also stuff, I could easily live without, how about instead of a remake they just give us a skip boring parts button?

I fucking LOVED FF7 when it came out. I think i played through it 5+ times. That being said, I can't imagine in this day and age playing through a game with random combat encounters. It sucked fucking ass when I tried to replay FF4 and FF6. It's part of why Chrono Trigger holds up so incredibly well is it doesn't have that shit.

Square Enix said they wouldn't truly remake the game until they thought they had made a better FF than FF7.
