Metal Gear Online will return in MGS 5: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear Online will be making a comeback in Konami's upcoming stealth-action title, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
During this evening’s Video Game Awards, Hideo Kojima announced Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain would include the resurrection of Metal Gear Solid Online.
A trailer for Metal Gear Solid Online was presented shortly after it was announced which shows off the game’s character customizations. The game will use the new Fox Engine and will allow players to perform many of the moves that are possible in the single-player campaign, which includes using stealth, cover, sprinting, and even the use of decoys.
Metal Gear Online was originally made available for the PlayStation 3 back in 2008, although its servers went offiline in 2012. This is the first time Metal Gear Online has been resurrected since, which I'm sure will leave many fans of the original experience jumping in as soon as it's made available.
