'Crystal' Red and Blue Nintendo 2DS systems announced
New 2DS color schemes to come alongside Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
This holiday's special edition of a Nintendo handheld system will let you see its guts.
Nintendo announced two new color schemes for its 2DS system, Crystal Red and Crystal Blue. They'll both launch on November 21 for $99.99 apiece. Each has a semi-transparent design to let you see the circuitry inside. Not coincidentaly, they're launching alongside Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which are also named after a crystaline red/blue color scheme. How about that?
Nintendo tends to make hardware announcements just before the busy shopping season, usually in the form of bundles or alternate colors for its systems. This year it's getting both, with the Crystal 2DS systems and previously announced Wii U and 2DS bundles. The 2DS bundle comes with a Mario Kart 7 download code, though you can make your own bundle by picking up a Crystal 2DS and Pokemon of your choice for ten bucks more.
