Team Fortress 2 Halloween update opens the Carnival of Carnage

Team Fortress 2's annual Scream Fortress update kicks off later today and it'll take the mercs to a playful carnival... OF DOOM!

It's been said before and it's worth saying again, it just isn't Halloween without Team Fortress 2 and its annual Scream Fortress update. While previous events are currently playable, there's nothing quite like a whole new holiday shindig and Valve is ready to welcome in this year's Scream Fortress, which will once again star the mischievous wizard Merasmus.

This year, Merasmus is feeling much more playful and ushering in Merasmus's Carnival of Carnage. In addition to new curses, the new Scream Fortress map will include a strange diversion called Bumper Car Madness. It's just like it sounds, putting mercs in the driving seat of deadly bumper cars.

Valve is coy on further details, with the event page adding little information, but it won't take long to find out what's what. The new Scream Fortress update is set to arrive later today and run all the way through November 12.
